Once a decision has been made and executed, one must accept the consequences because there is no turning back.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"5\">The Historical and Literary Origin<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\">While famously cited by <a href=\"https:\/\/curiosandofirenze.it\/en\/dante-alighieri\/\"><b data-path-to-node=\"6\" data-index-in-node=\"24\">Dante Alighieri<\/b> <\/a>in the <i data-path-to-node=\"6\" data-index-in-node=\"47\">Inferno<\/i> (Canto XXVIII), the phrase is linked to a real, bloody event in Florence in 1215. It is said to have been uttered by <b data-path-to-node=\"6\" data-index-in-node=\"172\">Mosca dei Lamberti<\/b> to convince his allies to murder Buondelmonte de&#8217; Buondelmonti.
