Dante Alighieri was born in Florence in 1265. He is a famous Italian poet, writer, and politician, and is considered the father of the Italian language. He earned this title because he wrote the “Divine Comedy.” This work is one of the most important masterpieces of the Middle Ages and of Italian literature.

In 1900, the city of Florence installed stone plaques in the historic center to honor him. These plaques feature the poet’s verses and are located in the places mentioned in his book. Together, we will follow this literary path through the streets of the city.
